It gives me great pleasure to announce our FIRST PERFORMANCE NATIONAL DAY OF CELEBRATION, a short demonstration concert featuring this year’s 4th grade band, scheduled for November 13th at Cambria Heights Elementary School. Students will demonstrate what has been learned up to this point and your attendance will help motivate them to perform at their very best. All 4th grade band members are expected to participate in the concert. If your son/daughter cannot attend the concert, please send me a signed note.
Concert dress is going to be black pants or skirts and a white or black shirt, or as close as possible. Please do not feel obligated to buy a new outfit just for this concert. The stage gets very hot so students should avoid wearing heavy sweaters.
Our FIRST PERFORMANCE will begin promptly at 6:00PM and the entire presentation should last approximately 20-30 minutes. Certificates will be presented to each student musician to celebrate this major achievement.
Please see the back of your child’s practice journal for information on how students can practice with recordings of their concert music on SmartMusic for free. Practicing with these recordings will help students to prepare for the concert. The concert music will be selected from their Traditions of Excellence method book.
If you have any questions or concerns please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at the elementary school at 344-8506 before 8:00AM or after 2:30PM. Please sign the form on the attached paper and have your child return it to me so I can be assured that you have received this.
