Non-Instructional

Paraeducators

Paraeducators work with teachers and other school personnel to provide assistance and support
to meet the instructional, behavioral, and/or personal care needs of student.
 
This full-time, nine-month position includes individual healthcare and
PA Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) benefits.
 
Qualifications include:
• High school diploma
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work with children individually and in small groups
• Teamwork and a desire to work with teachers and students
• Ability to lift and provide assistance to students with disabilities

School Police Officer (SPO)

Cambria Heights School District is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as School 
Police Officer to protect our students, staff and guests during school hours and at after-school 
activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Basic Police Training:
Successfully completed basic training as required by the Municipal Police Officers’ 
Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) under 53 Pa.C.S. Ch. 21 Subch. D 
(Municipal Police Education and Training); OR
Be a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, previously employed as a State 
Trooper with the Pennsylvania State Police, and separated from service in good standing.
• Annual In-Service Training:
School Police Officers must complete annual in-service training approved by MPOETC as 
required under 53 Pa.C.S. Ch. 21 Subch. D.
 
Additionally, School Police Officers must successfully complete the Basic School Resource 
Officer Course of Instruction offered by the National Association of School Resource Officers 
(NASRO) or an equivalent course of instruction approved by the Pennsylvania Commission on 
Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).

Cambria Heights School District will pay for the successful applicant’s NASRO training course.

Substitute School Police Officers (SPO)
 
Cambria Heights School District is currently seeking qualified individuals to serve as Substitute
School Police Officers to protect our students, staff and guests during school hours and at after-
school activities.
 
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications: Ability to perform a variety of routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities in and around school facilities.

Candidates must be willing to work first or second shift.
